Ana Griffy showed me recently how to live in the moment to embrace it all. At only 4 years of age she displayed in one afternoon a myriad of emotions ranging from desperate tears, for the "owie" she received from tripping over a rock, to utter joy running with this young boy. It was only later when I looked at the pictures I made that I realized why she was so happy... She was running through a rainbow!

Homeless Woman in Din Daeng

I came upon this woman in the market sitting amongst the roses, homeless, desparate, sad look in her eyes, crying from her soul... What got her to this point in this of her lifetime? Why had she come upon my path and I on hers? Would she remember me the way I remember her? It was a random chance glance. I could not leave. Had to do something for her. I bought her food. She sat amongst the colorful roses, most appropriately the red roses signifying love, reminding me to acknowledge her... with love, send her light, send her sound. So many people I came upon, yet she is among the most that stood out to me. She is the inspiration for the film and photography World Peace Project -- to acknowledge every living soul on the planet to drive inner and world peace.

In March 2008 I visited Asia for the first time. This was a big step for me as I was supposed to go in 2000 and ended up cancelling my trip at the last minute, had a bad feeling about the plane -- and it crashed! But this trip felt right. I went with my best friend, Michael (who is half Thai). We stayed in the Din Daeng area of Bangkok in a very Thai hotel -- translate... cheap, but clean. The first day we walked around making pictures of Daily Life. This picture captures how I felt -- almost floating around, still suffering from jet lag, not quite landed, but looking in on the wonder of Thai life.
